WHO WE ARE
Non-Governmental, Non-profit Organization registered with Nigerian Cooperate Affairs Commission by a group of mixed crop professionals and passionate development practitioners. HIWD is charged with creating real and positive sustainable change in the lives of the less less privileged, Women and Youths in Nigeria. Our team holds a combined wealth of experience in local and international development initiatives such as Skill Acquisition Program, vocational training, capacity building, economic development, financial empowerment activities.
We believe every woman and girl child deserve the opportunity to live free from poverty. Working in partnership with local and international donors, we reach out to the less privileged, train and empower them so that they can start businesses, support their families and strengthen their communities and thereby contributing positively to the economy and our society.
HAJIA HALIMA HAMISU, CEO
Hajia Halima Hamius is an accomplished and compassionate social worker, she has worked with several orphanage homes and Internally Displaced Persons across the length and breadth of Nigeria. She has also partnered with various International and National Governmental and Non-Governmental Organizations in delivering social development programs that have positively impacted women, children and youth in the targeted communities.
Her mission is to empower women, children and youth for self-sustainability and influence policies that affect them, including reducing risks of Gender Based Violence.
